Cheryl Roach – Post Resettlement Support

Throughout my career, I have cultivated a diverse and fulfilling path within the housing sector, taking on a range of roles spanning tenancy sustainment, housing management, and frontline support. This journey has equipped me with a strong foundation in helping individuals and families secure and maintain stable housing, while deepening my understanding of the complex challenges surrounding tenancy and independent living. I have consistently worked to create meaningful, lasting change—particularly for vulnerable groups such as young mothers—by empowering them to build resilience, develop essential life skills, and thrive in their homes and communities.

Through this role, I discovered a particular passion for working with young mothers. I was inspired by their resilience and determination and became committed to helping them reach their full potential. My work involved designing and delivering non-formal educational activities tailored to their needs—practical workshops, peer support sessions, and one-to-one coaching—that helped build essential life skills such as parenting confidence, household management, and personal development. I have provided tailored guidance on budgeting, rent management, and communication with landlords, ensuring that young mother’s feel confident and capable in their roles as tenants.

This experience not only shaped my professional path but also solidified my belief in the importance of early, supportive intervention. I remain dedicated to empowering young mums, helping them to thrive both as individuals and as parents, and ensuring they have the tools and confidence to build a positive future for themselves and their children.
